Adisseo announces global price adjustment for SmartLine products

Adisseo has announced a worldwide price increase for its SmartLine range of rumen-protected methionine products, effective 1 May, citing ongoing geopolitical tension and supply chain disruption. The company said the adjustment was necessary despite efforts to absorb some costs. Its SmartLine range includes Smartamine M, Smartamine ML, MetaSmart Dry & Liquid, and RumenSmart. 

Fanon expands production in Croatia with new feed innovation

Fanon is investing in a new production phase in Croatia to boost domestic protein and oil processing, reduce reliance on imported raw materials, and strengthen supply chain resilience in the animal feed sector. The project also includes logistics improvements, sustainability-focused production, and a new plant-lipid concept called CaMilo aimed at improving digestibility, feed efficiency, and circular use of European raw materials. 

Novonesis launches Europe’s first Bacillus probiotic for dairy cows

Novonesis has launched Bovacillus, a feed-stable probiotic for lactating dairy cows in Europe that supports gut health, immunity, and feed efficiency. It works in both the rumen and intestines, helping cows convert more feed energy into milk. The company says that it increases production by about 1 kg of milk per cow per day, along with higher protein, fat, and lactose output. 

New poultry feed additive introduced by Trouw Nutrition 

Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company, says its new feed additive Presan Evolve has been designed to help high-performing broiler chickens cope with stress, inflammation, and gut health issues that come with rapid growth. It combines plant-based compounds and butyrates to support resilience, feed efficiency, and overall performance. New research presented at the event showed that this approach can improve growth performance and help maintain productivity in modern poultry production systems.

Trouw Nutrition opens petfood premix plant in Spain

Trouw Nutrition has opened a new pet-dedicated premix plant in Griñón, Spain. The fully transformed facility is certified to FSSC 22000 standards and runs on renewable electricity, making it a zero-CO₂-emissions site. With this addition, Trouw Nutrition now operates 2 pet-dedicated production sites in Europe, alongside its existing plant in Ashbourne, UK. 

Zinpro releases 2025 Sustainability Report

ZinproCorporation, manufacturer of organic trace minerals and animal nutrition solutions, has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, Bringing the Zinpro Effect to Life, highlighting progress in emissions reduction, water stewardship, waste management, innovation and social impact. The report also notes continued investment in manufacturing upgrades, renewable energy and employee wellbeing.

Eurofins and trinamiX expand Mobile Forage Analysis offering

Eurofins Agro and trinamiX have expanded their mobile forage analysis solution to France, Italy, Portugal and Spain, giving dairy and cattle farmers more access to on-farm feed testing. From March 2026, all Eurofins forage applications on trinamiX PAL Two will also include energy values, and the portfolio has been expanded to include alfalfa/lucerne silage. The companies say the update will help farmers make faster, more precise feeding decisions to improve feed efficiency, herd health and profitability. 

Barentz reports strong ESG progress in 2025 

Barentz says its 2025 Sustainability Report shows progress across climate action, sustainable innovation, supply chains, people, and ESG governance. Key highlights include a 33% cut in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2022, ESG assessments covering 80% of suppliers by revenue, and continued growth in responsible sourcing and diversity efforts.

Alltech Brazil awarded EcoVadis Gold Medal

Alltech Brazil was awarded a Gold Medal from EcoVadis, achieving an overall score of 84/100 and placing it in the 98th percentile of companies globally, across all industries. The company was also the first unit to have 100/100 in all the following environmental indicators: policies, endorsement, measures and certifications. Medals are awarded based on percentile ranking against all companies assessed over the previous 12 months. 

dsm-firmenich again successfully defends 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 patent

dsm-firmenich has won a favourable ruling from the Beijing Intellectual Property Court, which upheld CNIPA’s decision to keep its Chinese patent for swine compound premixes containing 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 in force. The patent has now withstood a second invalidation challenge from Shandong Haineng Bioengineering, although Haineng has appealed the judgment.

Kerry opens expanded biotechnology manufacturing hub in Ireland

Kerry has opened its expanded biotechnology manufacturing facility in Carrigaline, Co. Cork, significantly increasing its capacity to produce lactase enzymes at industrial scale. The expansion strengthens Kerry’s ability to support dairy producers worldwide as demand accelerates for lactose free and sugar-reduced dairy products, enabling faster scaleup, secure supply and consistent performance at commercial volumes.

GMP+ International launches new e-learning on 2026 GMP+ FC scheme changes

GMP+ International has launched a new e-learning module for GMP+ certified companies to explain the 2026 scheme changes published on 2 March. Entitled, ‘Understanding GMP+ FC scheme changes 2026’, the e-learning helps companies understand and apply the updated GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance and Feed Responsibility Assurance requirements, and is available in English, Dutch, and German through the GMP+ Academy.

CCPA Group acquires majority stake in Yem-Vit in Turkey

CCPA Group has agreed to buy a majority stake in Yem-Vit, a Turkish premix and animal nutrition company founded in 1987 and based in Izmir. The deal strengthens CCPA’s position in Turkey and gives it access to the poultry market, while building on its existing Turkish business through CCPA Turkey.

Feed mill expert joins Novus North America swine team

Michaela Braun has moved into a new role at Novus as swine sales manager after serving since 2023 as senior liquid systems & sales specialist. She began this new role on 1 March and will support swine customers in the Midwest US, focusing on sow, nursery, and grow-finish operations. Her background in feed mill technical support is expected to help her bring a practical perspective to swine producers and nutritionists, especially around toll mill logistics and customer liaison work.
