Decreased cereal quotas, lower milk prices, the pig cycle and the financial crisis are the main reasons why European compound feedproduction saw a slight decline in 2008 – 0.4% less feed was produced last year compared to 2007. The European feed manufacturers – united in Fefac – recently released their compound feed production data for 2008. The figures show that feed production for the EU-27 reached 150.6 million tonnes, which is 0.4% below the figure for 2007 (151.2 mio. t). App
