Ruminants are capable of synthesising B vitamins. The rate of synthesis is influenced by a variety of factors. B vitamins are a class of water-soluble vitamins that contain chemically distinct compounds such as thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), folate (B9) and cobalamin (B12).
