Research by Dr T Stahly at Iowa State University indicates that the current NRC (1988) estimates of dietary pantothenic acid are sufficient for maximum growth of pigs. Pig genetics though have developed through the years and higher inclusions of the vitamin create leaner pigs with less back fat and higher weight gains.
