Ensuring safe feed with the Codex Alimentarius

The Codex Alimentarius is an international code of model food law. If governmental legislation is in compliance with Codex standards it cannot be successfully challenged under the rules of the World Trade Organisation. After the European feed scandals in 1999 and 2000 animal feed was included in the task force for safe production of food.
